DII LeMoyne beats Syracuse at Carrier Dome

it happens every year to a lot of teams. It doesn't matter.

Good for LeMoyne. They are a Jesuit school located in Syracuse. Founded in 1946, they are the newest of the 28 Jesuit colleges in the U.S.
LeMoyne plays a NCAA Division One schedule in baseball, as an independent, but they are in Division Two in other sports. I don`t know how they can do that. I remember that LeMoyne used to make the regionals in baseball. When the scores were announced, fans would say. "LeMoyne, never heard of them ."

I lived in upper New York State and LeMoyne had an excellent reputation academically. I cannot recall anything that they did athletically that was notable. But it is a small school and with Syracuse University so close and the network of New York state colleges and universitites nearby too, I never had the impression that they were going to expand. In those days and in my older brother's college years, Fordham was the Catholic and the Jesuit school on the east coast that most Catholic students wanted to attend.

LeMoyne has top notch lacrosse program, as well very competitive baseball tram. Lacrosse has been national champs a few times in the last few years and I think their baseball team made the d-1 world series one year.

Wheeling Jesuit would actually be the newest of the Jesuit Colleges.

There might be some Jesuits on the faculty of Catholic colleges in Florida. However, the Jesuits don`t administer any colleges in that state.
The only Jesuit colleges in the Deep South are: Spring Hill College, in Mobile, Alabama and Loyola University, in New Orleans.
Many families, down where I live in South America, have sent their kids to Spring Hill College. The school has lots of courses in Spanish. Also, they have a golf course right on their campus. That is pretty nice.

Tulane is a private school. It is not a Jesuit school. It is located right next to Loyola University. Perhaps the students can take courses at both universities.
The Sugar Bowl was also located on the Tulane campus.
It sure was a nice area of New Orleans. St. Charles with the trolleycars and Audabon Park across the street from Loyola. Many pre Civil War homes in the neigborhood. The weather is terrible, but you can`t have everything.

I believe that Bill Carr coached at Spring Hill once he left USF.

UCLA almost pulled a Syracuse. The Bruins needed a late 3-pointer to beat Concordia 62-61. . . . NAIA school.
