Some on my thoughts from Midnight Madness: 1) Decent crowd, I would say about 70% of the lower section was filled (the upper section had very few people). The gym looks great and the new seats are now in on the upper level behind the baskets. 2) Overall was very happy with the turnout and the enthusiasm in the building. Some fun contests (3 point shooting and dance contest with teams broken up by year, frosh, soph, jr, and sr for the men's team) 3) Dominque O'connor are you kidding me???? Highlight of the night was definitely Domo's windmill dunk during warmups. I can't believe this guy can dunk at all he's about 5'8" and to thrown down a nice little wind mill dunk... WOW!!! Very impressive. He had about 4 or 5 dunks during the warmup. 4) Williams can really shoot it. As I had stated from seeing him in the Pro Am. A two handed release and it comes off the fingers tips very softly with good rotation. He made about 80% of the 3 pointers he attempted during his one minute 3 point contest (which really got the guys fired up as they were competing against the women). The question is not going to be weather or not he can make it, it's going to be weather or not he can get it off... 5) Thought Diarra looked good. He scored 6 or 8 of the green teams 13 points during the 10:00 scrimmage. Seems to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time to score baskets. It ended in a 13 to 13 tie. 6) Nikola appears to have a very good outside stroke as well. He was effortlessly knocking down 3's during warmups. Also has a long wingspan and had a great block in the lane on one of the guards that penetrated (I think Domo) 7) Definitely looked like a first scrimmage the guys were a bit out of sync. Although I think it's also difficult to score when the defense knows exactly what play the offense is going to run... A much better looking gym and a much deeper team in terms of talent. Let the season begin!!!
