Austin Westlake's Cody Doolin nabs MVP of the Texas Super Showcase as he led his team to a 4-0 record and the championship.

Austin Westlake goes 4-0 to win the Inauguaral 2009 Fall Texas Super Showcase on Sunday at Austin LBJ's High School. They topped Austin High, Austin Reagan, San Antonio Lee and finally beat Pflugerville 74-64 in the Championship.

Westlake will go as far as the Senior D-1 Triplets will take them. 6'2" PG Cody Doolin is the straw that stirs the drink. The University of San Francisco commit is a deadly, deep shooter who can finish in traffic at the rim.

Doolin was a major recruiting coup. RW signed a 3 star player right in UT's backyard. He will only get better.

Agreed. He looks to be a REALLY strong get. Rex is great at evaluating talent and character and intelligence and then focusing in on closing the deal. It helps that the recruiting targets are smart and can understand the case.

Its nice to seeing him doing well, but I hope he stays under the radar until we actually sign him in November.

I see no problem. He is NOT under the radar. He is committed to USF. His family has ties to Bay Area. He's smart and gets that playing for Rex is a great match. Not say'in that he's a Rex clone but his game appears to be similar......scoring guy with good handle and high BB IQ. WCC has been a league dominated by guards historically. USF looks to have 4 really good ones next season (Vaughn, O'Connor, Williams, Doolin). You could also make the case that Green is a 2G. Bodes very well.
