Hell has frozen over

Gonzaga will actually play Xavier in a home and home. I am in utter shock.

From Xavier SID's Twitter:
"The signed two-year contract is in. Xavier and Gonzaga will be playing a home-and-home series that will begin next season in Washington."

Does Few know something about Xavier losing all future recruits for the next 2 years? I mean this can't happen unless a major break down in the X program is to occur.

Good for them. I know some of their season ticket holders were tired of seeing University of South Carolina Upstate and Idaho State and Podunk U.

I am still waiting for the zags to play such power houses as Academy of Art and Cal State East Bay. You guys make it sound like the zags only play cupcakes. Last time I checked the zags play against quality teams every year.

I am talking about home games. The Zags routinely play cupcakes at home. USC Upstate, Idaho, University of Alberta, Bakersfield, etc.

True we usually do play cupcakes at home. We do however play quality teams on the road or at a neutral site.

I don't remember the score but the dons won by like 50 points. Lets be honest the dons were not that good last year. So if you beat a team by 50 that makes them a cupcake. However I didn't see their cheerleaders.

Because USD only beat AoA by 30. If USF wouldn't have beat AoA so bad no one would have remembered.

As I said, the Academy of Art was the worst "college" basketball team I have ever seen. I seriously believe that SI or SH would have beaten them.

I'd might take DGM over Jamie Williams in a no holds barred fight. I think he got rid of the dreads, if not, she would take full advantage of holding onto them while knocking him senseless with a stilleto.

Williams, DGM, and the Portland AD in a cage match would be a great fight.

Xavier is actually getting better after Miller has left. Their incoming recruits are straight legit.

Incoming recruits scout shows xavier as having no recruits for 2009. Rivals only show one recruit for 2009. You must be talking about 2010 recruits. Xavier's commits for 2010 are all 3 and 4 star recruits. The zags get 3 and 4 star recruits all the time.

Name one 4 star Gonzaga recruit that Gonzaga signed for 2009-2010 or 2010-2011. And not the "if they were American, they would be ranked . . . ." Actual 4 star recruits from Rivals or Scout.

No 4 stars for 2009. just two 3 star recruits. 2010 is still up in the air we will see. My point was if you go back over the last 5 years we have had a whole bunch of 3 and 4 star recruits even a 5 star recruit. I really don't put much stock in recruiting classes. Once they get to college it all changes.

I didn't say we were competing with UCLA or Kansas. Being mid major schools the best we can expect is to get 3 and 4 star recruits. I think everyone can agree that scout and rivals don't always get it right. Some of the best players on our teams were either 2 or 3 star recruits. If I am not mistaken I believe Dior was only a 3 star recruit. I took offense to the zag type hype comment because honestly all recruits are just hype until they produce. I am not the type of fan that is going to fall in love with every recruit and instantly think he is the next great player. I usually don't believe the hype and take a wait and see approach. Which is exactly how I feel about this years recruiting class.

Point was that the kids Xavier gets are nationally recognized, unlike Gonzaga's usual "under the radar" guy from Canada/Europe. Gonzaga just doesn't play to the American kids any more. At least, not how they used to. Look at the 2010 Xavier commits and check out the other schools that were interested. A pretty good group of schools there.

Oh, and just how many commits does GU have to 2010? The answer looks a lot like the Oregon Duck's logo.

I said that there were no new facts and that is why there is a Zag story line that is full of a lot of B.S. because there is nothing else to discuss.

There are very few facts posted on this board with the exception of new players, but there are lot of opinions by many of the posters who have an opinion weather they do or don't know what they are posting about. Say that is a fact!!!

Now, I really like my AD's in a cage fight stuff in this thread, but other than that, it is mostly an SCU guy and a Gonzaga guy going back and forth.
I'm not going to delete it or tell them to take it to a different board.

I enjoy WCC talk, non-BCS talk, jokes or arguments between WCC members.....especially in the offseason when NOTHING is going on.

I like the fact that WCC members come here to discuss, argue, have some fun. And a Xavier-GU series is a great WCC/A-10 topic.

Better than reading Reborn-type freshmen evaluations in September. YAWN!

Anyone can begin new threads to their liking if they prefer. Isn't that the beauty?
