Gumbs has Liverpool Slot

I spoke to Jerome Gumbs last Sat at WMG during Open Gym. He has his UK citizenship which gives him access to roster spotsd throughout Europe. Current plan is to leasve in the next week for Liverpool unless agent lands better offer. Gumbs is a great guy. Always helping USF out. I'd look him up in a minute is ever in Liverpool or wherever he's performing.

Jerome Gumbs is a true Alumnus and he has been very involved with our players because of the bond he has forged with Rex. He was a class act as a player and he continues to be as a young man.

Saw him once at the old Rite Aid @Geary & 16th Avenue... good dude!

Enjoyed watching him play but wish PM got him in the game more early on in his career... although he was injury bitten. He was very creative going to the basket,etc.. He would have flourished in the new RW style!!!

His problem early in his career was that he was incapable of dribbling with his left hand. Once he corrected that fatal flaw, he was a very solid contributor. Always liked Gumbs the player. Good to hear that Gumbs the person is a good guy.

Great memory! Gumbs always got after it. That night was watershed for the Dons...Dior Lowhorn came to WMG to a packed house that night, on the last night Pete Newell graced us, and scored 20 as a freshman - there's no doubt that night helped bring him to the Hilltop.
