The Montana player Shawn Stockton is David Stockton's cousin. As for David Stockton getting respect; fans, broadcasters, even coaches typically do not give a "walk-on player" due respect. Unfortunately, David Stockton carries the burden of the label "walk on". It's ironic that walk-on players, for the effort they make, deserve more respect than many scholarship players.
