So the best way to prepare to face BYU and SMC in back-to-back road games is to NOT REST or RECOVER from the two previous conference games? Instead we want to expend energy trying to win a game that counts for next to nothing?
I mean we all want a good W-L record at the end of this. But nobody on the selection committee is going to be pouring over our resume looking at that Morgan State game as validation for this or that. By contrast, every conference game is totally essential for finishing in those top-4 spots, which is absolutely critical if you're thinking of any kind of WCC tourney run to get into the dance. Besides that, those games will be watched widely on TV.
In other words, BYU and SMC are light-years more important. When none of our starterss plays more than 20 minutes against Morgan State, you'll see what I mean. Which is unfortunate, because Morgan State is a good team that is worthy of a better efrort.
