Honestly, I think the Dons' only "bad" loss is the one to NMSU. The Bison are far better coached and more disciplined than the Aggies. USF lead for much of the NMSU game, and I feel they should have won the game. Alas, poor execution down the stretch doomed their chances. That, and some admittedly puzzling strategies employed by Coach Walters (e.g., the two possessions at the end of the 1st half that consisted of standing around for 30 seconds and then jacking up a three in someone's face. Also, the strange minutes played by Gavin Hoffmann). Rex has a lot of positives that outweigh any negatives, but that game did leave me a bit confused.
Can we also pause for a second and take stock in the fact that the teams the Dons have lost to this season are a combined 18-1? Or is that too much of a positive outlook for a board that has become oh so bleak lately?
