Once again, SCU, UP, and USF will NOT get an at large birth in the NCAA. Our SOS or RPI is completely irrelevant. The only way we get in is to win the WCC tourney. If we scheduled 5 ranked teams in the OOC and beat ALL of them (at their place, of course), it may have made a difference.
Getting routed by UW or Kentucky or beating UCLA makes no difference to the middle of the pack WCC teams. RW knows this and doesn't see any benefit to going to UW or Lousville and getting creamed with the help of pre-paid officials. The only real benefit is the payday.
RPI will only help or hurt BYU, SMC or GU in terms of seeding. Those teams have a history or being in the NCAA and are on the radar of the selection committee already.
