Fair to say we, season ticket holders, would like to see the Pacific Union and Menlo type games gone and replaced by major schools.
That said, the espn article says RW and school officials have agreed that it is not in the best interest of our deveoping program to play guarantee road games. I suspect this is unless we get a home game in return and as Don M mentioned at least we get a fair shake on refs. I agree with those sentiments and Cresco Dave's explanation as well.
Since we are on the subject of cupcakes, here are a few other team's schedule highlights per the espn articles: Pac 10-Bryant, Lewis & Clark,West Alabama,Central Arkansas, San Diego Christian and Western Oregon. WCC- Cal State San Marcos,British Columbia,Pomona Pitzer, LaSierra, Lewis & Clark,San Diego Christian, San Francisco State, UC-Merced and Pacifica
No disrespect intended to any of those school's athletes or schools themselves but no D1 schools should be playing cupcakes!
One additional consideration to factor-BCS programs are football funded or state funded programs who have the resources to pay for guarantee games at home so even if they don't play a non D1 program they often pad their schedule with low ranked D1 programs of which there are several seeking paydays regularly.
