The knock on SMC is always someone is leaving and the expectation (or may I say "hope") is that the program will drop.
Unlike the brief rises from other program up north and very far down south...SMC has weather each change and that is a testiomony of the change or real arrival of a program. SMC is in the elite class of the WCC and that includes the inclusion of BYU.
A lot of mention was made from the quote, "remold vs. rebuild" by the prolific Omar. I suggest SMC "does what it does" and that is win. 25 consecutive wins for a season is only mentioned with elite teams, especially over multiple years. That "HUGE" stat is not something one can dismiss or ignore. The loss of MM is note worthy, but so was the loss of Mills, Simpson and Samham. But in each transition SMC moved on new faces appeared and new roles were developed. That is the statement about Bennett: development, wins and commitment to players in recruitment and buy in. "Just my humble opinion...I could be wrong"?
Special note: RW understands this concept and is creating that same culture in the west bay.
