Tollefsen is such an intriguing prospect. Very good athlete. Not a great leaper, but at 6-8, 6-9 with extremely long arms, he has no issue with slamming the ball home. (as seen on the video clip above) I love his enthusiasm for USF and the game of basketball! In the age of highlight videos online, kids can become enamored with doing the things necessary to find themselves in such a video. (ie slam dunks and 3pt shooting) After watching Mark play in person I think he may have fallen victim to this way of thinking. This is just an opinion and not meant to be a criticism per say. One reason why I think this to be the case is on defense (this is only based off of two games I had seen in person) he would try and leak out for the fast break more times than not in hopes to get the dunk on the other end and give a salute. We all need to remember that these are high school kids that are playing a game and are very impressionable. I think once Rex gets a chance to work with this young man day in and day out we will have one hell of a player on our hands. I see a young man with the ability and the desire to succeed and a coach that can help bring out the best in his game. Any criticism that Mark may read here or elsewhere should only drive this young man to succeed that much more! He seems like a great kid and I cannot wait to see how his college career progresses!
