I'd like to amend KSTATE's response a bit. If any of you SF posters have followed this issue on the Gael board you are aware that to the extent RB has leveraged anything it is facilities improvement not salary. If -- and it is a big if because no one outside the principals knows anything definitively -- Bennett has played Utah's interest against SMC, what he is asking for is an addition to McKeon to house training facilities, offices, etc. Such an addition has long been in the college's plans, but, for one reason or another, has not come to fruition. Bennett really doesn't have any salary concerns at SMC -- they have increased his pay generously in recent years and will continue to do so as his worth rises. But he knows he has lost recruits -- most recently Aussie star Hugh Greenwood -- because of poor training facilities. That's what he wants improved, and if he is using the outside attention to amp up his request, more power to him.
