Your figures seem very accurate, Santa Clara's Engineering program is a huge plus for them and they seem to do an all around good job in most every aspect of the University. They are also non-union because they are Santa Clara, which helps them a lot. Loyola Marymount sold off quite a bit of land to the West at one time, which really put them way up on the plus side financially. The impact of the recession is not a help to any University and the Bay area is an expensive place to live. There are no easy answers and things are much more complex than most realize. There is no doubt in my mind that USF needs to improve it's PR! This is not the time to be alienating loyal supporters or firing good people. The University needs to appreciate more the tremendous benefits of a good athletic program ,and we have that history to build on. Rex Walters is an example of the kind of image we like to see at USF, wholesome, honest and hard working as are many of our coaches.
