I checked the above web site listing endowments. Santa Clara is troubling with its large $697,881,000 endowment. Having attended Bellarmine, some of my classmates are significant contributors there. A few own tech firms that grew with the industry and economy over the years, and they write huge checks. Also, SCU educates many HP and other large tech firm's engineers and administrators. This has helped their endowments. Loyola Marymount is 371,335(I'll leave off the 000s.) LMU's always fed off the affluent population around LA. I was surprised at little Harvey Mudd (260) and Mills College's (233) relatively small endowments for their rich and prestigious alumni. Then our USF comes in at $216,171, which to me makes sense even though it could be higher. Seattle U. is 214,771 and SMC is 162,526. All of us should just be thankful for the wonderful education that we've received, and take out our checkbook once in a while even if it won't significantly affect this ranking. As for many of us DCers, we want to directly affect USF MBB and will donate accordingly. My feelings are that a growing MBB will significantly enhance USF in many ways.
