If the kid was determined to leave SI and the choice was between GU and some basketball factory he made the right decision. He will still nead to go through the NCAA clearing house to have his high school transcript vetted. He still needs the SAT scores,
Many kids get important courses out of the way the first three years so they are on admission applications filed first semester. For some of them it also allows a mnore enjoyable seniors year - given the alternatives this is a wise choice and may become more popular in the future if it works out for this kid.
