As a former high school doubles tennis player....I have to agree. The highlight of my tennis career was when our coach decided to stack the doubles teams in a match against Turlock and put me at #2 singles (essentially, throwing me to the wolves). I beat the guy 6-1, and then proceeded to beat the #3 guy and nearly beat the #1 guy. Still don't know how that happened.
Also: the #1 doubles team for Sonora that season featured a long-haired 6'9" kid who played center on the basketball team. He did NOT have good footwork (although it was a b###h to get shots around him at the net with that crazy wingspan). The best part was that his partner was about 5'2". We used to call them the Jockey and the Filly.
