Games played against Div 11 teams are not calculated in the RPI. Only games played against Div 1 teams are used.
Last year we had a home and home with Holy Cross we lost to them.We lost to No. Dakota state in Hilltop challenge.We beat SJST by a few points.We scheduled Pacific. All want us to schedule local teams. We played and won at Montana. We got who we could get for the hill top challenge, and are looking for this year and next, and I don't think Rex is turning down any high RPI teams to the Hill top,do you? We were lucky to get in to the Great Alaska shoot out.
You think he is not attempting to get better games???? He is not going to play guarantee games. looking for home and home, changes perception of team when you pay guarantee games, see ESPN web site with many articles regarding guarantee games and perception.
It gets more difficult to sign higher RPI teams if they think they have any chance of loosing. The better you get the more difficult it is to get better teams to play you,untill you have a reputation like Gonzage,where it is an "ok" loss to a high RPI team. That is a big part of the problem.
Easier to schedule games when you RPI is at 60 and above. Very difficult for 125 to 60. Your reputation and your RPI will suffer with loss to the 125 to 60 RPI teams . So no to playing them if you are a 60 RPI school.
