I attended last nights event, was only there for the last hour and a half. I wanted to get a early look at the 2009-10 Dons. Here are my thoughts on what I saw. The crowd- I am not sure number wise as to the count, I would say that the bottom section was 2/3 full with almost no one (except myself and a friend plus another 20-30) there were more students then in years past with maybe one exception (when they had rap artist ) the crowd was not overly hyped and at times pretty darn quiet. All in all it was not a bad turnout when considering all factors, teams record last year, the joke DGM has made of the athletic dept. The student bodies overall lack of interest in sports. The new make over of the gym - I liked it. I like the new baskets , court and black paint on the ceiling. They did get rid of the seating behind the baskets but I think it gives it a cleaner look. The team- It's too early to really know anything but here goes... I like the team chemistry ( let's see how it is after some losses) guards - O'Conner has amazing handles , good passer , shot was not dropping last night. Michael Williams looks to be a solid player and should see time due to handle and shooting ability alone. Kwame Vaughn looks to have been working on his handle and shot, I would think he may be the starter at the 2 guard spot. Bryant's shot was going in last night had a couple of 3's. Rashaad Green looked okay, did not stand out in any one way but looked athletic.
I will cont. Later with front court, doing this on the move with cell phone.
