My guess is the only reason Monty is playing in Stockton this year is that his former Stanford boss Ted Leland who is now at UOP pulled in a favor. They should not expect it to be a recurring trend.
Appreciate that it might not have been the proper forum but maybe those other coaches in attendence from the WCC need to be more aggressive in that setting and call Monty out instead of laughing.
Let's face it it is not only Cal but virtually all the BCS schools who are unwilling to fairly schedule. Maybe it is just me but I see this trend continuing and worsening unless someone steps to the plate and gets the situation changed. Meantime, fans like me will continue to reduce their interest in college basketball in general. The consequences could be a disaster to all programs, not just non-BCS programs.
