Gonzaga staff cannot contact or recruit athletes during several down periods. So they tell Bob and Angie to do it for them. Bob and his followers (CDC, etc), at the request of the GU staff, post how these recruits will "step right in for __________ when he graduates." or they will become the next Morrison or Daye. Or that GU is a "perfect fit" for their skills. That is illegal. And it is exactly the kind of thing that the NCAA will ding a mid-major for.
They dodged the bullett on the posts requesting that GU boosters call their Senators about Kong, but they need to be very careful.
Dont forget that Dr. Abe (the guy with the very interesting MySpace and Youtube pages) blatantly offered to give recruits plane tickets. He also offered to "privately" fund a scholarship so they could go over the 13 man limit. And then he said he wasn't kidding.
