Maybe I am being overly positive but I think USF could do it.
It would be expensive but we already have a stadium and a huge football fan base in SF that would love a college football team. SF is too large of a city to not have a college team and who better to fufill that than the storied Dons.
I feel with the proper PR work we could make USF "San Francisco's" college team instead of being that Jesuit school on the hilltop. All those 49er faithful could become Don faithful also. USC's fans for example are mostly made up of people who never went to USC (i know the lack of a pro team in LA contributes to this) but its possible.
We just need some wealthy donors and a strong push for football to come back. Anyone good with websites wanna create a bring back dons football site? I am sure we would all help get exposure.
