But...but, I received an invitation from NonZaga to post here.
I was looking for some lively discussion here.
Hmmm a thread titled "Please write your Senators"
It belittles the concept of politicians being politicians.
Dear Senator,
Drop the health care nonsense, forget about the war in Afghanistan and ignore the national debt. Do whatever you have to to get Utah into the BCS.
Thank You.
Of course The honorable senator didn't receive any letters from his constituents on the subject. Faced with other daunting issues, he still demonstrated his ability to think outside the box. On a late flight to DC, he simply dreamed up the idea. He leaned over to his aide and whispered, "I got an idea! Let's surprise the voters by taking time out on the senate floor to demand that Utah football is eligible for a national championship!"
Of course on a much smaller scale, a senator representing the Gonzaga constituency need not occupy the time of other senators or issue a press release. A simple private letter or phone call to the proper bureaucrat would relay the message that "voters are corresponding with me." And the resulting action could be as simple as taking the paperwork from the bottom of stack B and putting it on top of stack A.
Nah.....it doesn't do any good to write your senator.
