I agree with the winning part.
The seedings depend on the RPI and higher seedings gives you a big advantage. If you are in the fourth seeding your odds of winning are at least 80% or better.
High league RPI allows inferior teams into the tourney. ACC, Big East etc. This keeps non power conferences with less entrants, even though their teams should be going.
