I do not want to get into the argument about Omar....I just want you to know that the SMC administration decided to take the time to listen to some of the issues that Omar had in taking the SAT..."that was Omar's problem" his high school grades were fine, however his SAT score needed to improve to be accepted to SMC...I am sure that is what the problem was for his entrance into USF....the administration at SMC took one extra step and decided to have Omar evaluated and what the evaluation discovered was that Omar had a slight learning disability...SMC administration then got him some specialized help for the disability. Omar then retook the SAT and also took a couple of classes at a JC and he received a high enough grade to be cleared for admission...so it seems as though SMC just did a little extra work with an individual and he is doing fine...i hear a lot on your board that this is something many of you think is missing at USF athletics..it seems to be so. Also Omar does maintain a high "C" low "B" gpa....i received all this info from someone in the administration whom i have come to know and highly respect....it has none of the sugar coating of someone in the athletic department.
