Years ago I decided to move to central CCCounty when it was taking me an hour to get downtown on the 38 Geary from the Richmond, while my friends were driving into the City from Walnut Creek in 30 minutes, plus had better weather and parking. Oakland and Berekely are minutes away. And despite snobbery to the contrary, WC has a respectable night life. Even the "too much to do here to support college basketball" city of SF is just half an hour from Orinda BART. Face it, USF students just don't love their school or their teams as much as the Gaels do. What's the earth-shattering news from Los Locos? I hear they're close to qualifying for the "quantities of five or more" discount on piss-yellow tee shirts and the club is going for it, despite the risk of probably having to eat the cost of two or three shirts.
Any basis for the assumption that SMC is composed of suburban kids, or simple speculation because the campus itself is suburban? In my day more students came from SF than any other city and even today it seems eighteen-year olds that decide to go away to college tend towards the experience that is most different from their HS environment. 91
