"I do not want to sit under the basket, I would rather go sneak into the side section seats where NO ONE is sitting". Patented tantrums? Gimme a break. How was any of that remotely close to a tantrum? Just because I write in a more free form speech style than yourself? Or because I'm passionate about the group? Thats pretty weak. Simply a unwaranted cheap shot. First off abq, why don't you go ahead and count the amount of seats in our section. On closer review, you will find that it doesn't even total 200. Next, you are comparing our ability to pull students with that of schools which A) Offer better seats, and B) Have much less going on around campus. Can we draw 200+ a game? Yes. Is it all up to Los Locos? No. As we have discussed many times, it is up to the basketball team to put W's on the board, it is up to the department to support us with the appropriate seating like any other student section gets, and then of course up to Los Locos to recruit the best we possibly can (something we are actively improving on, part of the big news coming out). In reality, I am no longer on campus to accept that challenge, but Im sure Josh would be more than willing to attempt it. For Sac State? Come on, let's atleast start with a game that has some attraction...not like we get many, but anyways. You won't see 200 or even 100 students at a SMC vs. Sac, SCU vs. Sac, UP vs. Sac type game. Just a fair comparison, because I hope you wouldn't compare our results to some of the larger schools in the country with FAR more resources and students overall. Also, for the record...accepting a challenge is NOT a risk=reward situation. What risk are we taking in trying to get 200 students to a game? That we would fail at it? We havent been able to fill for games other than our big marquees, thats been noted. We attempt to do that EVERY game. Our efforts are getting better, as is seen by the soccer turn outs this year. A risk, is giving a dedicated group of individuals seats which are NOT occupied by anyone...infact its a very minimal risk. In doing so, Los Locos is given something to sell to the student population, are shown respect for the hard work and dedication we have given to this school and will continue to give, and allowed to start a new culture while expanding at USF. Ultimately, I really doubt RB's support in that quest will do much. It is up to the Athletic Department, and Lord knows they are rarely moved by season ticket holders, let alone anyone. I simply asked that those people put in a good word of support for Los Locos the group. As I have said many times, there is no one sitting in these seats, and we deserve them because we are growing and can continue to do so with the help of new initiatives such as improved seating. I am not your Los Locos STUDENT leader anymore, so enough with the talking down BS. Give it a rest. I type as If I am talking and use plenty of emotions...can it come off different sometimes? Sure. So what?
Im going to write this twice to drive a fairly simply point home...
Bottom line: The biggest complaint from ACTUAL STUDENTS we are trying to recruit, or get to sit with us... "I do not want to sit under the basket, I would rather go sneak into the side section seats where NO ONE is sitting".
