Mel, if you have exhausted all means of testing before trying another coil, it might sound silly of me saying so but are the batteries good, and if they're rechargables, they can sometimes go really wacky or affect a machine if one of the cells fail, also, if that isn't an issue try this just for shitsandgiggles turn on the unit itself without the coil attached, if the control unit or the screen, may or maynot mess up....if for some crazy reason it does...man, you got problems...if not...try another coil, it's a cheap fix for an otherwise good machine
