Got out for a bit of a family dig last night. My daughter, Sandi, and my son, Darcey, and I called on a fellow firefighters farm outside Truro. He had a section of field plowed where once stood a house and barn. Lots of iron in the ground and lots of pottery/china shards. Coin for the night-1886 Indian Head penny. Really had to work to get the date. Two glass bottle stoppers and the various iron scraps (oxen shoe, mower blade, stove parts, etc) Field will be planted by the weekend. Maybe I'll get another go at it in the fall.
