Posted by Dee Barton The John Honeycutt that appears in the 1840 Claiborne Co, TN Census is marked in the age range of 50-60 meaning he too was born between 1780-1790. This John can then be found in the 1860 Union Co, TN Census (Union Co was formed from Claiborne Co) and his age is listed as 78 meaning he was born about 1782 in NC. There is an estate inventory in Claiborne Co, TN for an Urias Honeycutt dated in 1843 with Austin Honeycutt as the administrator. This estate inventory is most likely for the same Urias Honeycutt that appeared in the 1840 Claiborne Co, TN census. So he probably died before 1843. These two men, John and Urias, are very close in age and I would think they were brothers since John had a son named Urias. But both these men's ages do not agree to the sons of Moses Honeycutt and Margaret Stout that most researchers have. So either they are not their sons or other researchers have the wrong children listed for Moses Honeycutt & Margaret Stout. Do you happen to know the marriage date of Moses Honeycutt and Margaret Stout? Where did you find that Moses was first married to Elizabeth Stout, sister of Margaret? Thanks for all your help.
