Posted by diane We are early 40's, will be selling everything land based and spending the next 25+ years cruising where ever the sun is warm and the scuba diving is good. I would like to ask the same question about buying a boat. We've been looking at Vagabonds and lately Peterson 44. My husband thinks is will cost us $100,000 to find something that will be comfortable for the "rest of our lives". Seems like a lot, but these boats ain't cheap. My question is this, do you like mono hull or mult hulls for cruising? What makers do you see cruisers are most pleased with? Lastly, can you recommend a resource on determining whether or not to carry insurance, as well as information on health insurance, what you need and how to get. Do most people carry it? Lot's of question, but hey starting on the dream. Thanks a bunch, Jeff and Diane --Previous Message--
