Posted by travis on June 23, 2003, 1:38 am These guys are not known for their good judgement, but they do have me thinkning. I know that buying a boat sight unseen is a gamble, but if a true deal can be found on a smaller "project" boat, what should one do to make sure a boat is sound before setting off into the Gulf Of Mexico? We are more intersted in adventure than comfort, but I am still interested in a reasonable level of safety. I am guessing the boat they bought couldn't have been more than 25 feet. Is that reasonable, or are they just lucky?
Hello all,
I was just taliking to some friends of friends who had recently purchased $350 sailboat on e-bay, and spent about $500 dollars fixing it up. None of them had any previous sailing experience, but after about two weeks of practice, they set off from the coast of Texas and were island hopping the Caribbean.
