I own a 2000 44cc and I think its got it all,(well I would, wouldent I) But seroiusly I believe the space and extra weight make for a fantastic ocean going boat. I have a cutter rig with running backstays so when it bolws really hard you can downsize the rig. The sail performance is great which is what you will expect from a Bruce Farr Design. I wouldent be a great fan of the long narrow Gally. The Solid windscreen in the cockpit gives fantastic protection and very good visibility. Its strong enough to stand up on when zipping up the slab reefed main..Its a strong fast spacious and very comfortable yacht for 2 couples for extended cruising. You couldent ask for much more.I previously owned a southerly 105 so Im hooked on centre cockpits. When Upgrading I wanted something bigger but not too big, with much better sailing performance. The Beneteau 44cc far exceeded my expectations. I looked and sailed many designs like this before I purchased and I dont believe there is a better cruising boat on the market. I cant understand why they were not more popular. I will be glad to give further information to anyone who is interested.
