I was just looking for a starter to put on our 542ci 13:1 motor. I ending up buying the Summit SUM-920323-M starter for $230 that has 4.44:1 gear ratio. The Tilton Super Starter we had was not working very well. The Summit starter looks like a Promaster starter and it works great. It comes with 2 shims and 2 bolts and has 8 possible mounting patterns for the motor to clear the block or headers.
The Meziere starters cost $496 at Summit. Meziere now has a 139 tooth flexplate with TST400 starter that has deeper pitch.
