I would like to buy a 5-7 year old pointer that's proven itself in wild bird trials. I don't plan to trial the dog, I just want it as a hunting companion for grouse and pheasants about 50 days per year. I'd like to make my home a retirement home for one of your favorite old dogs.
I'm not looking for just any dog, though. It needs to be kind, and it must have a strong desire to please. This dog is going to live in my house, so it needs to be quiet and able to "turn it off." It must get along with all other dogs and people - I'm not interested in a fighter or troublemaker. It must be broke, absolutely honest on game, and it must retrieve.
Ideally, the dog would be black and white, with a 12 o'clock, ramrod-straight tail. Male or female - doesn't matter.
If you have a great bird dog that's easy to have around but that has started to slow down just a little bit, please get in touch with me by email. I might have just the home for it.
