Since my Dad passed on in 1998, at age 73 ANY information about his service in the 44th will be appreciated. I know it can most likely be only word of mouth or "My Dad knew your Dad "etc. but here is the info I have about MY HERO...
PFC Loyd Calvin Tow (like cow) Company F, 324 Infantry Battalion, 44th Division in Worms and Landex(? the papers I have spell it Sandechs?)rifleman, grenade launcher, bazooka and 30 cali. machine gunner
Germany May - Late July 1945. He had a best buddy through out basic and in Germany, Ducotney( phoniclly spelt)who helped him to read and write. He was also with Company A, 2nd Medical Battalion at Ft. Lewis Washington until seperation in late 1946.
If any one has heard ANY stories about this poor hillbilly from SC please let me hear from you. Or if you just want to tell your story I'd be more than proud to hear about YOUR HERO!
Thank you Sincerely Janet Tow Webb (daughter of a Hero)
