Hello to all.My great Uncle Elmer Gish served in the 44th Div.,71st Inf.,Company K as a T/Sgt.Recently his widow,my great aunt,(my grandpa's sister) gave me a very large box that belonged to uncle Elmer Gish,inside is his personal WW2 things,in it is his own handwritting on each of his soldiers,numbers,ect.There's 3 small spiral notebooks with all the names and show's whom paid for their cigerette's and whom still owes money for them.On some pages it lists who was sick,mail,surplus,ect.One of the notebooks with all service men name,ranks and Squad number's.Names are listed by last names only.
Found a 2 page document: Hq.44th Inf.Div. Reception Station #9,Jefferson Barrack's for Roster's 10217-F.This includes 1st & last names of soldiers,ranks,number's and home town's W/address'.Then another 2 pager from Camp Caffee,Arkansas W/soldiers metal award's,Silver,Bronze,Leaf with their personal hostile fire braveness,ect.This is dated Oct.12,1945.
A book on Roster of the 44th Infantry Division,dated Sept.4,1944 - July 20.1945.
There's a thick book called,New Infantry Drill Regulation's,US Army.Another book called Feild Service Regulations,operations Administration:

FM 100-10
FM 101-5
This is a Staff officers feild manual,the staff & comabt order's Infantry Journal.There's 2 small booklet's,1 is Handbook of Info..the other is an Army Song Book.
2 Germany item's,an arm band plus a torn ofdf patch,its lrg.There's too many things to list,most of theother item's is his straight razor's,a pocket bible,bullet's,US Army Stationary,ect.This is truley a Time Capsule & am loving every minute of it to go through the box of goodies.And am very proud to have it passed down to me.If anyone's relative,family member's served W/Uncle Elmer in Co.K,44th Div, 71st Infantry and wopuld like a look-up plaese let me know.Always glad to help if I can:-)
