Posted by Ed Walker I live in Neckarhausen, a small town near Mannheim that was liberated by the 44th at the end of March 1945. I believe it was mainly the work of the 324th Infantry Regiment, supported by the armor of the 772 Tank Battalion. The Germans launched a counter-attack out of Neckarhausen. Since the 60th anniversary will be coming up soon I was wondering if anyone could point me to some information/reminiscences about the events. There are now a few Americans living here (I myself am English). We would all be interested to know more.
