Posted by Bob Deich The units from New Jersey became parts of the 50th Armored Division (NJNG), 1946-1993. In 1954 the 50th Armd Div formally adopted the nickname "Jersey Blues". This information was developed by Walter P. Kennedy, Lt Col (Ret) in his work to develop a history of the 44th Inf DIv of WW II. Walter's Dad served as a Medic with the 44th in Europe. Bob Deich
