Posted by Winkie Grandison My dad was sent to OCS in the spring of 1942 but he kept in touch with Walter Mackowicz. Dad went to a reunion with Mac in Tom's River after the war. I am trying to write a story about going south on Carolina Manuevers before Pearl Harbor and then the return. My dad told me people jeered them going south and cheered them coming home after Pearl Harbor. I need details for my fictionalized account. Would also like info on guarding the beaches also. Thank you. Would love to link up with Mac or some of dad's old buddies.

Am looking for information on company I before they went overseas. My father, John Christopher Meyer, Jr. served with this unitduring the summer of 1941 after going to basic at Camp Croft in South Carolina. I believe he went south from Fort Dix to Carolina Maneuvers but I do not know where and when. I also believe he was guarding beaches in Jersey as a private at some point during this period.
