Verle Carl Walters, Jr. was my dad and he passed away on November 10th, 1985. His army separation papers say his WWII organization was Co. D 114th Infantry Regiment, 44th Division. He was inducted into service on November 27th, 1940 in Syracuse, New York, and I know he went to Fort Dix, New Jersey. He separated at Fort Lewis in Washington state on December 2nd, 1944. He never left the states during the war, but was in almost all of the lower 48 and I was wonderring if anyone had any info about Company D or the guys who stayed in the states.
