Just wondering if there is anybody out there who might remember my granddad Hayes S. McCaskill. He was with 44th Div. 114th Inf. F Co. He was captured at the battle of Schalbach. He went to Stalag 12A, then to Stalag 4B, and then to Bohn Leipa Czechoslovakia. He never talked about the war to my mom, and only told me a few stories that he remembered. He blocked out most of the bad. He passed away in 1994 and I found a little by writing to Mr. Deich. I've since found a copy of "With The 114th in the ETO" currently awaiting it's arrival. Just wondered if there is anybody who remembers something aabout the battle. Also, I would like to know more about the 114th reunion in 2009. I think somebody said it was in TN. I would like to attend. Any info would e great.
