My dad, Edward Slawinski, served with the 324th Co. F. according to his seperation papers, he arrived in theatre 15 Sept. 1944 and was wounded on 4 December 1944.
I lost my dad in 2003. I served in the Navy and the Reserves from 1978 to 1998 and wanted to have a better idea of what happened to my dad during the war.
He too, suffered from alcoholism, and didn't talk much about the war. If you can relay to me any details from the combat logs from that period, it would be very much appreciated.
