My Great Uncle's death

I am looking for details regarding the death of my great uncle, Staff Sergeant Havard H. Hart. He was killed in action February 16, 1945 I believe somewhere in France. It is family lore that he threw himself on a grenade, but I have no independent confirmation. Can anyone assist? Best Regards, Rodney
