I am looking for information regarding my great uncle Frederick F. Welch Jr. who was killed in action in November of 1944. My grandmother (Fred's sister) said that he was a member of the 44th ID, 71st Regiment. I am looking for information about the events leading up to his death around Nov. 19, 1944.
