Hi, I didn't know your Uncle but my brother Thomas C Garmany PFC was killed near Nancy, FRance on Nov 17, 1944. He was in the 44inf. div, 324th, company C.
The two probable went through inf training in Ft Lewis, Washington at the same time. I have a small amount of infro from that time but not much of which happened in France in 1944. I think it was an artillary battle that he was killed in. His body was returned to Texas later and is located in Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX.
