I am looking for comrades of my father, Gideon Lowe. He was 17 when he enlisted. Trained at Camp Van Dorn in Mississippi and was assigned to the 63rd Infantry Regiment. Then went to Camp Shanks, in New York. Boarded the SS Sea Robin in October and landed in Marseille. His notes speak about being part of Company 1. Finally took position est of the Saar River, near Metz and Bastogne. Here is where his notes say he was attached to the 44th Division. He speaks of Frank McGuire, Izzie Helmbrecht, Herman Neuman, Fred Vinson and Oscar Senn. He was attached to a rifle platoon commanded by 2nd Lieutenant Stern,
who he wrote was later captured and killed by the Germans. Spent Thanksgiving 1944 moving toward Ardennes. I know this information is disjointed, but I am looking for anyone who may have know my father. Thanks in advance for your response.
