My Father, Ellis James Jessen, was in E company of the 71st. He passed away 3 years ago, but I shot video of him telling stories of some of his experiences. I hope to post this soon. He was wounded near Embermeniel, France, 11/16/44, (near Nancy, France) but returned to the company in January '45, and remained throughout the duration of the war. Bronze Star & Purple Heart.
