Posted by Michael Woldenberg http://www.12tharmoredmuseum.com/ This story recounts one version on how von Braun was captured by the 12th Armored Division. On another website I found the following information: www.v2rocket.com/start/chapters/flight 2.html Pfc Frederick Schneikert of the 324th Infantry Regiment captured Magnus von Braun, the younger brother of Wernher von Braun. Is there a place on your website where the story of von Braun's capture is written? Can you tell me where the 324th Infantry Regiment was located on April 30, May 1, 2... My current theory is that the 12th Armored was ordered to pick up von Braun and the others, since they were a little closer than Please contact me at: geomike@buffalo.edu Thanks, Mike Woldenberg

Dear Members of the 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division, I am a Legacy Member of the 12th Armored Division Association. On the 12th Armored Web Site one can find the story on "The Capture of Wernher von Braun:
First Lt. Charles L. Stewart arranged for passes so that Wernher and over 120 scientists could proceed safely to the American lines and be captured. This happened on May 1, 1945 or shortly thereafter.
the 324th. Or perhaps the 12th Armored was chosen because they had some tanks available. Please read the story in the
12tharmoredmuseum.com website.
