I grew up in Elgin North Dakota and I used to visit Emil. He was a very nice man but liked to keep to himself. The only thing he would tell me about his time in the war is that he rode a bicycle from Washington DC to get home. I know he spent time in Bad Orb. Unfortunately he passed away recently, he was 90 years old. If you have anything to share I'd be happy to hear from you.
